RF IC Design Engineer

We are a young, but established and fast growing RF IC Design firm.  Due to our explosive growth we are looking to ad an RF IC Design Engineer to our team.  You should have 3 years of experience in RF IC design for products and applications in wireless communications.  Your primary responsibility will be to design RF circuit blocks for wireless applications.

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Work in the development of wireless transceiver applications
  • Design key RF building blocks including LNA, mixer, VCO, PLL, amplifiers, active filters, etc.
  • Oversee layout of the above building blocks.
  • Evaluate and characterize designs in the lab.
  • Collaborate with Systems Engineer to define IC block specifications.

Technical Qualifications:

  • BSEE required, MSEE preferred
  • Familiar with fundamental concepts involved in CMOS and BiCMOS Analog/RF circuit design.
  • Knowledge of Cadence tools (Spectre, SpectreRF, Virtuoso).
  • Design experience in high speed, low power circuits.
  • System level modeling experience is a plus.

Senior RF IC Design Engineer

We are a young, but established and fast growing RF IC Design firm.  Due to our explosive growth we are looking to ad a Senior RF IC Design Engineer to our team.  You should have 7 years of experience in RF IC design for products and applications in wireless communications.  Your primary responsibility will be to design RF circuit blocks and subsystems for wireless applications.

Technical responsibilities:

  • Work independently with a small group of fellow and RFIC design and IC layout engineers.
  • Design and conceptualize transceiver system architectures for low-power applications.
  • Work in the development of cellular, WLAN, Bluetooth, GPS, UWB and DTV/mobile-video solutions.
  • Design key RF building blocks including LNA, mixer, image-reject mixer, VCO, synthesizer, amplifiers and active filters.
  • Assist RF Systems Engineering in determining appropriate specifications for IC building blocks/subsystems.
  • Assist with layout of above building blocks.
  • Integrate multiple building blocks into a complete design.
  • Evaluate and characterize designs in the lab.  

The individual hired for this position will drive the design for the low-power RF signal path and synthesizer circuits used for wireless applications. Experience in the design of integrated transceivers is required. The position will involve actively working with mixed signal and RF systems engineering teams to define and develop single-chip transceiver architectures.

Technical requirements:

  • MSEE required. PhD in EE preferred, but not required.
  • Familiar with variety of wireless standards such as cellular (CDMA2000, GSM, EGPRS & WCDMA), WLAN (802.11 b,a,g,n), Bluetooth, GPS, UWB and DTV/mobile-video.
  • Experience with modern transceivers and radio architectures including superheterodyne, direct conversion, low-IF and bandpass sampling.
  • Strong experience in active filter design a plus
  • Fluency with fundamental concepts involved in CMOS and BiCMOS analog/RFIC design.
  • A good understanding of CMOS and BiCMOS low power RF circuits.
  • Knowledge of Cadence tools (Spectre, SpectreRF, Virtuoso) mandatory, Agilent ADS/EEsof desired
  • Experience with physical layout and floor planning of IC's.
  • Familiar with bench evaluate and characterize designs in the lab.
  • Good oral and written communications skills desired. This opportunity can over a future become a RF IC lead position if skill sets and experience match that role.

Senior Analog / Mixed Signal Design Engineer

We are a young, established and growing IC Design firm.  Due to explosive growth we are looking to ad a Design Engineer to our team. You need to have 5 years of experience in analog and mixed-signal IC design.  Your primary responsibility will be to design analog and mixed-signal circuit blocks for wireless applications.

What you will be doing:

  • Participate in architectural decisions and will help define block-level circuit requirements.
  • Responsible for high-level IC simulation and transistor-level design of analog sampled-data and continuous-time blocks such as data converters, filters, amplifiers, VGA's, PLL's and voltage references.
  • Design, simulation, verification, bench testing, and support of IC test.
  • Work with systems engineers, circuit architects, analog IC designers, layout designers, marketing engineers, and IC test engineers.

What you need to have:

  • BSEE required MSEE prefered.
  • Experience designing mixed-signal integrated circuits.
  • Experience with CMOS/BiCMOS transistor-level circuit design.
  • Solid understanding of CMOS/BiCMOS device physics.
  • Experience with all phases of mixed-signal IC design including layout and bench testing.
  • Experience with analog behavioral modeling in the Cadence AMS environment.
  • Good written and verbal communications skills.
  • Solid problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills

Senior Digital IC Design Engineer

 

We are a young, but established and fast growing IC Design firm.  Due to our explosive growth we are looking to ad a Senior Digital IC Design Engineer to our team.  You should have 7 years of IC design with RTL experience for products and commercial applications.  Your primary responsibility will be to design digital ASICs and SOCs for wireless applications.

    What you will be doing:

    • Design and implementation of digital modules, subsystems and full ICs using standard cell based technology.
    • Capture designs in high level RTL representations.
    • Conduct simulation of IC designs.
    • Tests vector generation and fault grading of IC designs.
    • Perform prototyping and design verification testing.
    • Release and tracking of design to foundry.
    • Selection and maintenance of IC tools and libraries.
    • Supervision of IC design engineers.
    • Project organization and tracking.

    The Senior Digital IC Design Engineer will be responsible for activities supporting the development of digital ASICs and complex SoC ICs including specification generation, RTL design and capture, simulation, and interfacing to the back-end layout process and IC production.

     

    What you must have:

    •  MSEE, or equivalent.
    • Experience with IC design tools preferably Synopsis and Verilog.
    • Experience on complex SoC design including MAC and PHY based implementations.
    • Experience with DSP algorithms and implementations.
    • Experience with ARM based implementations highly desirable.
    • Experience in mixed signal designs and gate array and standard cell technologies.
    • Strong good analytical skills.
    • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Prior project/team lead experience desirable.  This opportunity can over a future become an ASIC lead position if skill sets and experience match that role.
    • Familiarity with wireless standards, e.g. CDMA2000, GSM, EGPRS, WCDMA, Bluetooth, GPS, IEEE 802.15.3, IEEE 802.11 and DTV-Mobile-TV standards is highly desirable.
